Healing requires getting closer to what hurts the most.
Meet India Lacerda, LMFT
If a part of you is feeling intimidated by therapy and another part is trying to talk yourself out of needing it, you’re in good company. Before becoming a therapist, I sat in the client’s chair—both in individual and couples therapy. I’ve experienced firsthand the courage it takes to find the right therapist, to risk vulnerability with a stranger, and to start an unfamiliar process. But the reality is, when you have the right clinician, therapy should be the place where you finally feel safe enough to meet yourself.
My approach is down to earth and collaborative. I don’t take sides, I don’t make you fill awkward silence, and I don’t pretend to know you better than you know yourself. I strive to be both the person who has read all the books you would never have time for, and the person you’d want to meet up with for coffee when life is going sideways.
Together, we’ll make sense of what’s keeping you stuck, begin to change the way you see yourself (and/or your partner), and help you find your way to a more fulfilling relationship with yourself and others.
